This Maple Bourbon Barbecue Sauce is sweet and sticky and is perfect on ribs, chicken, and so much more. It’s a delicious and wonderful way to finish up any of your BBQ. This sauce is sweeter than a traditional barbecue sauce and is a perfect finishing sauce as well as a great dipping sauce.

Ingredient List
2 (8 ounce) cans tomato sauce
¼ cup tomato paste
¼ cup apple cider vinegar with mother
¼ cup molasses
¼ cup Worcestershire sauce
1/3 cup pure maple syrup
3 tablespoons spicy brown mustard
2 tablespoons smoked paprika
½ teaspoon cumin
Optional: cayenne pepper to taste (suggest ¼ - ½ teaspoon as this gives a subtle heat)
4 tablespoons bourbon

Instructions
Step 1: Add all ingredients to sauce pot except the bourbon to a saucepot, heat to medium, stirring regularly, and bring to a boil.
Step 2: Reduce heat to a simmer, stirring regularly until thickened and reduced to desired consistency. This should take about 20-30 minutes.
Step 3: Add the bourbon and continue cooking another 5-7 minutes.
Step 4: Remove the sauce from heat and allow to cool.
Step 3: Store in an airtight container and it should last 2-3 weeks.
